plz help me
iam using windows 2000.i hav a prob with dial up networking.whenever
i start my PC without switching on the modem,and click on my dialer
for the net connection it shows:"MODEM NOT INSTALLED".i hav to reinstall
the modem then.but this does not happen when i start with the modem switched
on.what shld i do to rectify this?is this a prob. with the modem driver
or with dial up networking??

you should switch on the modem with ur pc that your system looks for all installed hardware at the time of booting.

turn on the modem because a dial up network connects to the internet through the modem.....

You mean have a LAN hooked up to a dial up connection? That'll be painful to say the least. But yes you could. Have a computer that's hooked to the modem that's also hooked to a router/switch, or has multiple LAN ports and does it all itself. Either way you'll need to have the computer setup to act as a router. Enjoy a game of solitaire or two as the computers fight for seriously limited bandwidth.

This is due to mismatch of the modem driver . check whether u recently updated u r 2000.

try getting the modem styarted before the pc

so when ur pc looks for hardware it can find ur modem
