I don't have split personalities or anything, but I do speak out loud to myself. I even go as far as referring to myself as "We". It helps me to figure things out. Perhaps I'm insane. Who knows? No one ever thought me to be "mad", though.
However, I only do it when I'm alone. I mean, why talk to yourself when other people are around?

Only when im pottering round the house cleaning though all my daughters kids tv programmes get stuck in my head and i often find myself walking down the street singing "Dora, Dora, Dora the explooooorer" ;)

no but to be honest i don't think talking to yourself is mad because plenty of sane people do it(unless you are shouting and swearing like crazy-that's completely insane)

Yes...I go into shops and ask...what did I come in for?...and also if they dont have what I want I say...shops NEVER have what I want...and other things out loud...I dont really care if anyone is listening...Im entitled to my opinion...
