Will you accept the conjecture of an evolutionary biologist? The evidence that I know of, would indicate no more dimorphism, in ratio, than Homo sapiens. So, a Pleistocene division of labor suggests itself. A hunter/gatherer dichotomy. Perhaps not as great in Neanderthals, because they seemingly had less projectile weapons.
