I have gotten this twice, guys sending poems, and being very romantic, then once they think they got you sucked in they ask for money. Saying they cant cash their check, then asking you for personal information, and trying to get you to send them money!

There are plenty of weird and wonderfull internet scams a lot from Africa and probably from elsewhere too.

Only today at work I got one from a man from the Ivory Coast who's 'relative had died in the UK, left him money but was unable to do anything as he had no account - could he use my bank account'.

They come in all shapes and sizes these scams... preying on either greed (they offer you the chance to make money) or pity - they tell you a sob story, or in your case by romantic means.

Lol saw this episode in doctor phil where they tracked the nigerian scam to a five star hotel in London.
But what amazes tons of people are still getting fooled daily by all these scams. My take is if you have all this money ($10 million as one scam claimed) you dont need my measly $3000.
As the famous proverb goes:
"A Fool and his money are soon parted"

Yes, and this is so... a scam I had a friend who answered one of these she did send him money, I don't know how much he scammed her for, but she was also convinced they were getting married, she had even went as far as to start wedding planning, she actually went to rent a place for the wedding, she set up a bedroom in her house for his mother, cause supposingly she was coming to stay with her, and of course it was all a big scam, like I said I don't know how much total he bet her for, but they got a good sum of money out of her, not to mention the calls, she was stuck paying for, and this guy was from Africa, there is actually a website on African scams, and it actually gives the names, and emails of these people, this went on for about 2 months, I actuallly found him and his scams, and proved it to her, although by then he had already bet her out of money, I forget the actual website, but you can go to google and type in African Scams, in the search bar and it will bring it up for you, good luck

Someone once said that there's a sucker born every minute and apparently that's true.

As long as people are willing to be foolishly separated from their money there will be people willing to help them.

'Nough said.
