He throws it on the floor.
But the crazy part is he will eat anything that is not food.
Have any ideas? or little tricks?

Don't make a big deal out of it when he does throw it on the floor, for one. That way it takes the fun & game part out of it.
Also try to only give him 3-4 bites of food at a time.
And another idea, try to give him finger foods for his snacks. When he's playing on the floor, give him some Cheerios or little gerber snacks. He'll start getting the idea that it's not so bad.
Are you sitting at the table and actually eating with him? If he sees you eating, he will also probably do better. And if you haven't given him silverware (baby plastic kind of course) get him some so he can imitate you at the table.

Tracey, this may sound cruel, but this is what I once heard as advice.

There was a 4 year old who refused to take anything but milk. No other food. Period. The child was extremely pale and anemic and had to be hospitalized. The doctor ordered food put on his tray at the hospital and no milk. The child threw tantrums and refused to eat. For 4 days. After 4 days, the child finally did eat and after that, the parents broke their son of the milk-only habit.

Here's my point. That is an extreme version of this, but if your child only wants formula or baby foods and refuses to eat and you try all the other suggestions listed here, and it still does not work. Use some tough love on your child and don't give him other alternatives than solid foods. He WILL give in if he is hungry enough. He may scream and throw it on the floor, but eventually if he gets hungry enough you will win the battle of wills (because that is what it sounds like he's doing).

Continue to feed him jars (or what ever you ushually feed him)... Give him regular food cut up like finger foods along the side of that. Then over the next month or two gradually take him off the jar foods. He can eat a ton of things. Keep them kid friendly. Remember he is a common age now to play with the food. He will most likely throw any food he is allset with (if not hungry) too.
Good luck

at the beginning, you do no longer would desire to wean from the bottle at precisely 12 months. If he remains indifferent approximately solids, it is wonderful to maintain giving formulation a whilst longer. (in case you have been breastfeeding you would be strongly inspired to maintain offering breastmilk nicely previous a 12 months.) If he's no longer taking plenty solid meals, he DOES nevertheless desire the extra desirable nutients in formulation, so do no longer swap to finished milk particularly yet. 2d, purees are solid meals. whilst maximum toddlers this age are doing wonderful with table meals, some take a sprint longer to make the transition. shop offering table meals (no longer lumpy purees, yet accepted nutrition that he can %. up and feed himself), and if he's no longer particularly there yet, shop offering some purees.

Try covering it up with something that he does like..perhaps a piece of cheese and then tell him the next one will be without but he needs to eat it if he wants some more..Also try offering a treat after the mean..Baby food is not mandatory at that age though so you could just give him some of what you are having..cut it up and make sure he cannot choke..Its the same thing just not blended..

Have you tried a wide varietiy of food? Like mashed patatoes or something that looks like baby food to sike him out?
We always play the "airplane" game or train with the spoon i babysat (for 5 years) that always worked cuz they thought eating was a fun game.
Maybe try Macaronni and Cheese or try sticken it in his mouth when hes not paying attention in his high chair.
Good luck!

Don't give him too much food at once. Just a couple of bites at a time. If he keeps tossing it on the floor, take him out of his chair.....he's done.

Let him throw it on the floor. Eventually he'll realize how hungry he is and he'll stop doing that and eat.
