Relax, you'll do fine. Just pay attention and ask intelligent questions. When it's too slow, it's boring. There should be a specific person that you'll shadow to learn the different job functions. Always ask, never assume. This is just the start to your working life, so it seems really important - but honestly - you'll be leagues past this in a short time.

I remember working at Burger King when I was 15. I was the expediter - fancy name for taking the bag-o-burgers and fries from the kitchen to the carry out window- incredibly boring. Gary Gary Assbury ran the fry-o-lator. God, he was gross - he was a couple nuggets short of a happy meal and had the longest, dirtiest finger nails I had ever seen on a man. And there he was - touching the fries.

Remember to look for the humor in all situations :)

Because thats how a lot of places are. you have the lunch rush which is around noon to one or two and the dinner rush which is around four or five to around six or so. Its pretty much dead the rest of the time with a few customers coming and going. They need the help during the rush so that is when most people work. Once you have some experience and seniority you can request and maybe get a less busy shift.

I dont think 4-8 are rush hours...well they can be I suppose, depends where you are. But, they can have you working rush your first day to higher your expectations and show this isn't going to be one of those jobs you can slack off in. You know- build you up from the start! Either way, good luck :-)

That's not really rush for a fast-food joint. Rush is at lunch.
And, if your store is selling its weight in gold, they may as well get you used to working under stressful conditions. Turnover isn't really important to fast-food chains.

You get to see what it is all about! No stress, they just want to throw you in and make sure you want to work there- kind of an 'are you up for the challenge ?' kind of thing. You can do it, and if you feel overwhelmed, you have the excuse- "I'M NEW!" Good luck!

Because work sucks and employers suck even more. They really dont give a care in the world about you or how difficult you find things.

If you can handle the big rush, you can handle anything, plus if all else fails, you can be a go-for. Good luck....
