It's a nice name, very Celtic. I would experiment with different spellings just because Kay is how you would spell a girls name.
Maybe McCae, McKae, McCai, McKai, etc.

How about McKaleb/McCaleb...i think that sounds a bit more masculine, mckay sounds a bit feminine, and I actaully nanny for a little girl named Mckaylee. McCaleb is something i thought of cause I hate common names and i just thinks it adorable!

Sorry but No Maybe MacKay so at least he can go by the nickname Mac or something at least have a strong middle name for him so if he gets older and wants to go by something else it will be easy to do so...

I kinda sounds like you're trying to say "Mickey" in a funky way. I think he'll get called McKay Mouse, but hey, it could be worse.

I love it. I have a Grandpa and Grandma Mackay. It's their last name.
Mackay or MacKay means Son of Fire or Son of the fiery one. It's Scottish/Gaelic.
He will probably end up with the nickname Mac, just so you are aware.
Congratulations!

Since you're asking for opinions, no I don't like it--it's your baby. Do what you want. Mac Cay looks a little more masculine on paper.
