The US Ban on luxury goods to to North Korea is absolutely pointless. With the exception of the ruling elite, there are very few people in North Korea who have enough money to go out and buy the kind of stuff that the US is now banning.
It is a no win situation, because the current bans are pointless and if they make any more serious bans then again the only people that will suffer will be the people that are already suffering under his cruel regime. It will end up being like the Iraq bans when children where dying on the streets and Saddam was having solid gold basins put into his mansions.

I don't think it will do much good at all. Kim Il Jong is not exactly a sane man. Look at what he has done to the country. It's a vast military state without enough food to feed the population. It barely has electricity in many places. I don't think Kil IL will care about not getting an iPod.

Are you sure we even had trade going on with them? They aren't allowed to have PHONES in North Korea or any luxuries, why would they have any of the things you mentioned anyway?
