When flowers drink colored water, they take in some chemicals that they are not supposed to. If you keep feeding the plants colored water, they will eventually die of lack of minerals that they are supposed to have.

if you use pretty much any food colorant, you'll see the colour in the flowers after a few hours (provided you made a reasonable pick, white flowers obviously being the best)

It could change the color of the flower, like daisies will change color with food colored water.

The petals will turn the color of the water if the petals were initially white. I remember making red daisies with my son when he was very young. We used food coloring.

Well I think it works on daffodils. We put blue food colour in the clear vase and they turned blue. 99% sure we used daffs.

sometimes nothing... depending on the plant depends on if the material will show up on the plants leaves or pedals.
