I was browsing through some of the questions and answers on here, and found that a lot of people believe democrats "support" terrorism. One person even said, " A vote for Obama is a vote for Osama." Another said,
"Democrats are pro-terroist, and will fight for their rights, even if it means American lives will be lost."
Most certainly, these people must be exaggerating a little bit right? I know that the republicans are more in favor of funding the military than the democrats are, however, our troops in Iraq are without much of the necessary eqipment needed to protect them! Items as simple as vests and body armour are in short supply, so isn't that the republicans "fault?" Someone please help me out! I can't understand how anyone can really believe the democrats would protect and fight for the terroists before they would for the American people.

Most certainly, these people are not exaggerating, they are telling bold faced lies.

Really? A thumbs down for proclaiming that Democrats DO NOT support terrorism? This country is so divided...

Because, if the quotes of the terrorists and the Democrats were thrown in one big pot without attribution, most people would be hard pressed to tell which was who's quote.
Because Democrats supported the exposure of important intelligence gathering programs that harmed our ability to find and track terrorists through telecommunications and financial transactions.
Because Democrats have called US troops Nazis and criminals and murderers. Because Democrats have dwelt long and loud on all the things our troops have done wrong, but dismiss every good thing they have done. Because, to any rational person, they've been carrying the enemy's water.

What they believe is that democrats are somehow making terrorists stronger, improving their recruitment or "enheartening" them by showing that we are not "unified" enough in our fight against them and that they should keep fighting because eventually we'll do what the democrats want and leave. those who call democrats pro-terrorist think that the liberals are stupid followers, and that the democratic party is willing to watch americans die to strengthen their own party. it's a real problem because this kind of rhetoric really does prevent us from finding a good way to combat terrorism. it makes people think that the law shouldn't apply to terrorists, and it reminds them that if you disagree with the tactics we use against them, legal or not, you are enheartening the enemy and are destroying american lives. the gop propaganda machine is also trying to blame vietnam on the protestors. it's twisted logic, but it works. it's like these people who are against the aclu because they think they're only fighting for someone else's rights, not for everyone's rights... but really, it's the republicans who do that more than anyone else, always fighting for the rights of big business but discriminating against muslims, minorities, homosexuals, atheists, whoever they want.

People perceive the military and security policies of the Democrats of having the EFFECT of aiding our enemies, even if there is no INTENT on the part of the Democrats to do so.
And statements like Dick Durbin's, comparing US troops to Nazis, don't help.
Good question!

I just want to know where the $300 Billion + dollars have gone, if not to giving the troops the necessary equipment? The republicans can say whatever they want because of that piece of paper they are so hell-bent of destroying, THE CONSTITUTION!!!
If they support the troops so much, why send them underprepared into a situation that they had no idea how to handle? That seems more like you don't support them to me....

It's another way of getting your goat so to speak. Sometimes, it even works and some idiot posts something in return that makes Democrats or Liberals look stupid. Anybody with at least an eighth grade education knows a Democrat is just a party affiliation, not a terrorist supporter. It's all so silly.

The shortage of equipment in Iraq was the result of 8 years of Clinton cutting funding for the Military. Since President Bush has been in office the funding has been increased and equipment is now available, un armored vehicles are being up armored as rapidly as is possible and other equipment is being upgraded. When I fought for our country we did not have body armor and our vehicles had canvas tops and sides, i still support as many safety features as possible but you fight with what you have at the time. Doesn't it strike you as being strange that the people who complain are not the people in a combat zone!!

Most don't really believe that Democrats support terrorists. It's just over-heated rhetoric.
There are probably some die-hard true-believers that do believe this. But they never seem to have any proof or rational arguments to support their claims.
