The average person could care less what the money means after they die, they just know its very difficult to live without it so they hog and collect to hopefully live a better life financially.

Estate planning is a very emotional subject. Perhaps the person hoarding the money doesn't love anyone enough to bother with making a will. Some people are billionaires and still cannot bring themselves to spend. It comes down to several things: self esteem, am I worth it?; will I have enough, some never feel satisfied that they will and greed, money may make them feel powerful.

People do not want to run out of money during their lifetime, and they also may wish to leave an estate for the children. Considering how much money a final illness may cost nowadays, the possibility of running out must be taken seriously.

What do you mean "hogging money"? If you leave your money in a bank, the bank will spend it and keep it circulating. The only way to stopp the process is to bury it or stuff it in a mattress.

You are right. Its one thing to have some money, everybody likes that. But if you have way more than you will ever use and you just hide it away what good is it?

i dont have any problem with people earning a living to provide for themselves and to live decently. but i am against those who take from others what is not rightfully theirs through dishonest means and live comfortably off the account of others.

Fear of starvation. People are insecure about the economy and do not want to be caught broke if there is some catastrophe.
