It depends on what you want. At this time you may be able to get a very good deal with all the christmas shopping.
Think about your use as there is a new system coming out in January which is supposed to be a much better system. Look into it before you spend money now and then wish for the new system in a month or two.

Usually on holidays stores like radio shack have good deals and sales..they lower most of the prices. But then after the holidays, they put them back to the normal price. So the best time, is right now, during the holiday shopping time.

I think its a good idea to buy a computer now. It is the holidays so companies has purchased large quantites of computers. Plus Windows Vista is about to be released so they must clear out there old inventory of computers so they can get new ones that is Vista ready. All new computers are vista ready. Just buy yourself another 512MB RAM so you can have 1GB RAM to meet Vista system requirements.
I do not need vista so 512 MB RAM is good enough for me.

I would wait until after the holidays
there is always some kind of clearance sale in january and things are even cheaper

buy it now because the new computers with vista come out at the end of january. after that, you'll have to pay a lot for a vista upgrade. now the upgrades are free or an extra 10 bucks or something. computers that come out with vista are going to be expensive.

I've seen some really good deals going on right now. If you wait till after the holidays, those deals may not be there. I would seriuosly consider getting one now.

Truthfully...it might be cheaper now just because they know people might want them for Christmas. Just check it out and see if any are on sale :)
