I will be very glad to see him go. Maybe then we can get back some of the respect we lost from the international community.

This question is not a uniting question. This country is divided on the basis of Governing ideology and foreign policy. Bush simply represents one side of the debate, and many who have always opposed him will never come to respect the difference. From 'No Child Left Behind' to 'Prescription Drug Benefit' to the removal of Sadman Hussein, G.W. Bush has sought and received approval of the Democrats. To my dismay, no credit is ever given for this level of cooperation. Here is a link to a clip of all the Democrat leaders from 1998 to 2003 declaring the threat of Sadman and demanding action in Iraq. They must all have been lying! Who was saying Hussein had no WMD's or posed no threats when the decision was made? It is all too easy to be critical in retrospect. Look at the facts and then ask, who is responsible for the division of our country?

Have you forgotten how divided this country was during Vietnam? How about Roe vs. Wade (abortion rights)? Or are you even old enough to remember those? And what about this whole gay marriage thing? Pretty divided over that too. There will always be issues that divide this country! Always have been, and always will be. That's the greatest part of our First Amendment rights. Freedom of speech. We can't be prosecuted just because we disagree with the government. Let's not forget that when the vote was made in Congress over all this, it was UNANIMOUS! Now that it is coming up on election time for president again, suddenly you can't find a single Democrat who will admit to their vote FOR this war. Check the voting records of your representative and senator. You will find that they voted FOR this war.

As for the lies before taking office, how quickly we forget the lie Clinton told about smoking pot BEFORE he was even elected. He "claims" he didn't inhale, so it wasn't smoking it. Oh yeah! and getting head isn't sex either. They ALL lie to get elected.

No he was telling the truth. He has reached out to the opposite side. It's not his fault they are all insane, anti-American Liberals. It only takes one to start a fight. And the Liberals are more ready to fight than to join. Liberal hate is a strong motivator.

There is a real philological problem called the Bush Derangement Syndrome. People with BDS are by defination innsane. They would sacrifice Americas interests to prevent President Bush from doing something good.

America is divided not because of President Bush. But because of Anti-American Socalists like you.

I will be glad to see him go. He has taken the Republican Party too far to the right. Many people who were supporters of the GOP are hard-pressed to find a voice in Washington right now because Bush has catered things to the ultra-conservative.

The most frustrating thing is that there is only black and white now, where politics used to have many, MANY shades of gray: Bush has created an atmosphere of "if you aren't with us, you're against us"... with very little or no room in the middle.

You know at this point I don't really think Bush leaving office is going to solve the division in this country. Mainly I think all of Washington needs to start listening to what the People want, not their own personal interests, or the just the groups that pay all the money...Our government was meant to be about the people!

The big question is why and will we let this happen again? Complete division is not what "United States" is about. To answer YES I will be glad when he is a memory. We as Americans will never accept an appointed president in a free election.

Not really. Because, as others have pointed out, we'll probably end up with someone worse. And while there are some people who seem to think Bush and the Republicans are the nazi regime reincarnated, there are some dems who are just as bad.

Just because Bush is the current president and the country is very polarized doesn't mean he caused the division.

Yes, I will be relieved to see him out of office. Let's just hope in the next two years he doesn't make things worse than they are already. I feel for the next President, they are going to have quite the mess to clean up.
