I'm taking a religion class and we were talking about devenation and i can't seem to find the meaning. This is what i wrote down from what he was saying: Devenations- finding from another source, future happenings. Example Bones, throwing stones or sticks.
But looking this up the the net, i can't seem to find it.

I'd drop the religious class and take up an English class (with a background on spelling). "Divination" is trying to foretell the future. Another interesting example was how people used "Divining Sticks" (a pointed stick) while would help them find water.

yeah, it's because your'e spelling it wrong.

"divination" is the act of "divining" what's going to happen, or something that has happened. basically, finding out from a "divine" source through a physical medium.

an interesting side note, you may have heard of the drug "salvia." it's a form of sage that has been used for centuries by shamans and mystics to help enduce "holy visions." it's actual name is salvia divinorum - the diviner's sage. i've had some, and it triggers pretty intense hallucinations.
