Yes. And it will change as the world changes, and it will also change as I gain more information.

Unfortunately, no. I find myself hopelessly mired in double standards. Belief is based on faith. Faith can take unlooked for roller coaster rides which can assail your beliefs.
Witnessing world news and events can provide an example that can test your beliefs and convolute your thought. Anotherwords, how can we pronounce judgment and spout dialog on situations thousands of miles away? Can we and do we realize that perhaps we are ill-equipped to do so? Can we trust the media to objectively dispense information?
We can safely construct a system of core beliefs. It is these core values which provide the impetus for who we are. Once this system has accumulated some permanence, the medical field tells us that synaptic pathways are created. When situations arise that encourage us to take an inner inventory of our beliefs, it is these pathways which remind us that we've created a vehicle of response.
I think the real challenge is standing by your beliefs or standing by a belief that may vault you into public favor. Too often, this is a struggle that many of us fall prey to. I know, in my heart that I have done so at times. Thank you for reminding me of this and forcing me to look inside.
