You may not be a racist at all, just ignorant of the fact that people still experience discrimination. Sharpton, btw, is amusing, if you like political debate and appreciate snappy answers. You should listen to him sometime on a show like Hardball.

I am a white slave to america now ruled by people who are not smart enough to see through the big picture. Mistakes have been made a long time ago with the black americans. I was not around for those mistakes I can only take responsibility for my own.I should not be afraid to walk down any street in america but the police in Chicago told me after coming out of a hockey game because I could not get a Cab that if I walked into the projects I would not be coming out and they were not coming in to get me until morning when I was dead. It makes you wonder why is it like that and who are these 2 people to say anything about white people when they can not control their own race. They don't want you to hear this they just want you to hear that the Black man is being held down by the white man and he needs to watch out what he says and where. This will bring the prejudism out in any body especially when you can not reverse the roles, not that I ever would. In order to get into our hearts they need to stop pointing at all the white people and telling us we are prejudice. I am so tired of having this jammed down my throat. I feel if you don't think you are being treated fair stop and look around maybe you are the problem and as long as they keep flapping their gums there will be prejudism.

i am white. the civil rights movement generation is over, but not their goals.
Historically, the civil rights movement was a concentrated period of time around the world of approximately one generation (1954-1980) wherein there was much worldwide civil unrest and popular rebellion. The process of moving toward equality under the law was long and tenuous in many countries, and most of these movements did not achieve or fully achieve their objectives.
any person can be prejudiced. some blacks don't see their own.
civil rights are about enacting laws that make sure everyone is treated equally, or given the same rights.
for example, if a black man kills a black man, he serves less time than if he kills a white man. it is a FACT that on average that is true.
the most to least sentences
black killing white
black killing black
white killing white
white killing black.
that is not fair.
the civil rights movement needs to keep on. both nationally and internationally

Yes, I'm sure either Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson would take full consideration of a memo from someone who cannot spell or string together a coherent sentence.

While I think Sharpton and Jackson have become caricatures of what they are supposed to be. There is tons of Racism still out there and to say there isn't is not really being truthful.

No. That would only make you look like a fool. Those two men have come a long way in the civil rights movement. They should be respected for their opinions.

as unlikeable as they are and as true as it is that the civil rights movement is "over"...it is still true that there is racism today. are you protesting more against those two in particular or denying the existence of racism?
i'm not defending those two, the way they exploit people is despicable. but even though many battles against racism have been won, it is definitely still an issue.

Given "tht" the Republicans are so anti-individual and so anti-rights I'd say we still have a long way to go in this rather emotionally and sexually repressed nation we live in.
