No, Nebraska is not one of the states with prescribing privileges for psychologists. As of now, only specially trained psychologists in New Mexico, Louisiana, and some through the Department of Defense can prescribe medication.

Psychologists cannot write prescriptions, they aren't medical doctors. Psychiatrists can write prescriptions because they do have an m.d.

No, psychologists can never write prescriptions, only psychiatrists can, who have training in medicine.

The answer is YES: as long as their is a short and or long term treatment plan... Nebraska is the only state other than Alaska that can write perscriptions. Their are some written test that have to be past. My brother does this! Understand the population is almost NOTHING so you will not find a regular psycho degreed doctor. NO BUSINESS

Psychologists are talk therapists. Psychiatrists can prescribe medicine.

if he's licensed in what ever state the patient is in yes. if not get a referral from him or just get another psychologist. or if it's just a matter of getting a refill then he can call the pharmacy you need go to and have them fill it for you.

Psychologists cannot write Rx's in any U.S. state. Only M.D.'s can write Rx's.

but not in most.

all you would have to do to find out is call your local pharmacy and they would know,
