HI!! :)
My baby boy is now 2 and 1/2 months--he usually nurses about 10 minutes--that is 10 minutes of steady nursing--no looking around, or pauses in feedings. And he eats every two-three hours.
But you are about to reach the 6-8 weeks...growth spurt--your baby may want to nurse 2-3 an hour for a few days--but it will pass.
Mine is still waking up in the middle of the night--every 2 hours!!! ARRGGH! :) BUT I know it will pass SOON--I hope!
Great luck to you!

It felt as if I was feeding my baby every hour and a half when she was born but at five weeks it was closer to every two hours. I had to limit the amount of time on each breast because of soreness. I set up a schedule of 15 minutes on each side. At six months she was feeding about every three hours. I had so much milk being produced that I would suction out the extra after each feeding and put it in a bottle so my husband could also feed her, especially if I wanted a little break and go to the store by myself.

When my daughter was just born, she would feed for about 20 minutes on each side, then after the feeding she would eat again in like an hour....
she is almost 4 months old now, and she eats about every 2 hours now, and only for about 15 minutes total......
It can be different for every baby though!!!!

Well first every child is diffrent. My son who is now 3 months old used to eat in as little as 5-10 minutes and only from one side, he would go 3 hours till the next feeding. The baby will remove himself he is full. If you have any concerns please call the lactation consultant at the hospital or your local LLL

At 5 weeks, I'd say my kids probably averaged about 20 minutes every 2 hours or so. (Start of one feeding to start of the next.)
Be aware that you are about to hit the 6 week growth spurt, which means you'll have 2-3 days where it feels like you do nothing but nurse. Totally normal.

it is all on the baby. some become more efficient then others. Some just like to take forever, and others like to get er done. With my first it was like 10 minutes. With my second it was like 1 hour. I hope with my third it won't take forever like that, but whatever works for me. every baby is different. good luck

At first my daughter would nurse for an entire hour, after a few weeks of this she reduced down to 20 minutes.

My baby would only nurse for about five to ten mintures at a time, but he would eat often. I think that some babies eat for longer, but have feedings further apart.

The baby will stop when it is full. Never said if a boy or girl. Why does that matter? Well I was born little more than a while back and was breast fed, all these years later still have not be weaned off the boob. Mom stopped when I got teeth, so there was a period of years where I done without until I got married.
Boys never get weaned off the boob.
