my 7 month old daughter only drinks about 4 oz of formula at a time, and she has about 5 bottles a day which is about 20oz of formula per day...is this enough?? she eats 2nd foods also. she has a breakfast, lunch and dinner and formula in between, but she still eats between 1 and 2 bottles during the night. is she getting enough formula? should i give her less bottles with just more formula in them?

My baby is also 7 months old and she drinks 6 oz. bottles (4 a day). She also eats baby food.

I did reduce her bottles so that she could get through the night and it worked out well. She has an extra oz at night before bed.

I think that as long as the baby is happy and is gaining weight, any schedule is OK.

Take care.

It seems to be perfectly normal sounding to me! How ofter does she want a bottle when not having her 2nd foods? You may be feeding her too often and this can cause her to only take what she wants and cluster feed throughout the day! I would suggest if she wants to eat every 3-4 hours maybe extending it an hour longer and keeping her occupied with maybe a fruit or just plain veggie! My daughter had that habit of eating frequently but its almost like when she digested anything she needed more to fill her tummy right up to the top and than she'd quit..

Doc told us for our son that he should have around 32oz of formula a day to start with. With her being 7 months old tho, the solids are going to replace the formula to a point.

Check with your pedactrition, as every childs formula needs are differant, and he can best give u an"Exact" amount she should take a day.

I think she is fine. If you truly have a concern consult her doctor. My son is 6 months old and only takes 4oz bottles too. As long as your daughter is healty and gaining weight I dont think you need to worry.

good luck

I would try to feed her a little more during the day and eliminate those night-time feedings. At her age she should be able to sleep 'thru the night' without needing to eat.

i would say as long as she's still gaining weight, she is eating enough. the pediatrician told me one ounce for every month of age. my little one is 6 months and only eats 4 oz at a time though. as long as you feed her when she's hungry and till she's full, I'd say you're doing good.

As much as she wants. My kids would not eat alot for a while and then grub everything up. Unless there's signs of her not being healthy (too fat or not eating ; skinny) sounds like she's ok.
