Even though these shows disarm with humor, they still use many facts and news in their shows. If you pay attention, you'll see most of their "facts" are liberally biased lies!!!!

And yes, I saw Colbert quit and leave the studio on the results of the election. But there's something "funny" about this Colbert guy. He uses liberal lies too! He's constantly defending against them as if they are "fact", giving them truthiness.

I can't improve on the answers of pip and stephanie.

A few years back, during the Bush's first term, I saw Lewis Black on stage. He made a Bush joke, and a couple people in the crowd booed. Black came back with something along the lines of, when Clinton was in office, he made jokes about Clinton and the Democrats stupid mistakes, and since Bush is in office, it's the Republicans turn.

Political humor applies to all politicians, and if you can't laugh at your own party, then who can you laugh at? Yes, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert mostly make fun of Republicans, because the Republicans have been the dominant party. But, they are equal-opportunity comedians. And neither have ever claimed to be real news shows where people should get information.

Lighten up. There are no sacred cows.

Bill O' Liely? I'm reporting you to Stephen Colbert for calling him a liberal. I don't view these shows as liberal, I find them refreshing. I guess it wasn't Cheney saying we will be greeted as liberators in Iraq. Some people just won't accept the truth. Nice of you to point it out, thanks.

What the heck is disinformation?

Are neo-cons really wound so tight these days they can't tell the difference between a fake comedy news show and CNN?

fox! [fascist obnoxious xenophobes!] oh and by the way why don't they have a show that makes fun of the liberals... is it because they have no sense of humor?! [ i can only think of two funny Conservatives, bob hope and Kelsey grammar i think].

not only are they just comedy shows as is stated above.. but John Stewart won't hold back on the Democrats if they do something stupid as well... it's just that the current administration does so much stupid sh*t that those two shows don't even have to try lol
