First of all, look in the yellow pages for talent agencies and call them each to see if they represent young talent. Odds are you will find an agency that does. Set up and interview with you, your son and the agency....be prepared for it to be a very short meeting, because they just want to see what he looks like to decide if they will sign him
Before you go in, assemble some average photos of your son....not school photos, but natural shots of him. You can take them yourself with a basic camera.....one full body whot, one action shot, one head shot.....that's it.
They will probably take a polaroid of him during your meeting, so make sure he has a nice shirt on that photographs well (not white)
Please don't try and build a protfolio BEFORE you walk into an agency....total waste of money, because they may reccommend you to someone as soon as he signs with them.

The acting and modeling industries are in New York City. If you are serious about a career in either or both industries for your son, you must live in NYC. Otherwise, you will run into scam after scam. If ther is no modeling and acting industry in your city, you will only spend money unwisely, for something that doesn't exist. Modeling and Acting schools in cities other than NYC/LA are scams. They take your money and give you nothing in return.

well, there are a lot of modelling agencies around. there are also a lot of acitng agencies around. but if you want to get your kid into modelling AND acting, there are quite a lot of modelling and casting agencies around. i'm 14 and next week, i'm enrolling myself into a modelling and acting agency WHICH only gets paid if i get paid (if i get work, basically). that's how you tell the difference between a good and bad agency. you should also put together a resume and a couple of headshots but since he is only 7, he probably wouldn't have had any experience just yet but thats ok, because a lot of children agenies don't require resumes for kids. good luck

You should get him an agent and headshots (look in your local listings). Keep in mind it will cost some money- headshots are hundreds of dollars and agents cost a lot too. WATCH OUT FOR SCAMS!!! Double, no, TRIPLE check that anyone you choose to represent your son is legit. I would start him out with small things, i.e commercials and stage. If it's something he really enjoys and has a talent for, good luck. :-)
