It would be very similar to a period. Many women have miscarriages and never even know because it's right around the time their period is due, and they just figure it's their period.

There can be many signs of a misscariage, but the best way to know for sure is to see your doctor. If you had one, there are specific things a doctor needs to do afterwards to keep you healthy. If not, at least you'll know for sure.

when I had my miscarriage, I figured I was preggo, but just had not taken the test yet. I was two weeks late. And then I began to cramp very VERY badly. and then when I did start, I passed a firm jelly like mass about the size of a peanut in the shell. I noticed it and called my family doc, who is also my sis in law, and described to her what had happened, she said it was a miscarriage.
I also bled for almost two weeks but since it was a complete miscarriage, they did not do a dnc
I then went my obgyn and they did a blood test and it was positive for the hgh level for that time of pregnancy.

That happened to me. Didn't miss my period but got a really awful, uncomfortable feeling in my lower abdomen... almost felt like it was in my back. Like I had to make a BM. But nothing happened immediately. I took a pregnancy test to see if I was pregnant and it came out positive then... but a day later, I started bleeding and it was a heavy flow with tissue (sorry.. kinda gross). I called my Dr. and they confirmed I was having a miscarriage.
If you think you're pregnant, take a HPT or call your Dr. they can help you with your questions.

You wouldn't, really.
An early-term miscarriage is believed to be ridiculously common, and it's not thought that most notice it.
"It is thought that around 50% of all fertilised eggs do not survive, coming away with a normal (or slightly late) period. This is often referred to as an 'unnoticed miscarriage' because it is usually not formally acknowledged by the woman, who is never aware of her pregnancy."

Later term, though, it would be a period x50. Hard to miss; clotting and blood aplenty.

prolong bleeding (more than 5 days), passing clots of tissue, extremely painful cramps, more than your regular monthly cramps. Contraction like feeling (pulsing feeling) over your womb
