Most sites that offer FREE downloads only have older books (whose copyright has expired) and nothing very new! How do you think authors like Meg Cabot would make a living if there was a site that gave their work away for free?

If you're a bit hard up at present, then try Amazon marketplace, where you can often pick up a quality used book for a few pence plus postage. Try a thrift/charity shop. Try ebay. Try the local library.

I see this question a lot, and as a writer, I feel authors should be compensated for the years of work they put in writing these books. It has taken me almost thirteen years to write nine novels and I've yet to make any income from it. If you want free books, borrow them from the public library.

Any books that are still in copyright (those published since 1929) are not available for free. Books that are older can be found at Project Gutenberg (www.gutenberg.net).

I suppose that you could try here:

But I think you'll probably find it easier to go to your local library.
