I want to teach English in Japan for a few years. The only thing is will I be able to put this on my resume when I return to the U.S. for employment? Will employers take my English teaching as a negative or a positive? Please advise me...

You should go for it. I have a close friend who is now enjoying his 4th year of teaching in Japan. It has given him invaluable experience and has had no negative effect on his resume.

It counts and it looks very good.

Now when you work there,.. remember your students clean the classroom,.. not you. Don't let them fool you with messes. Also double check with staff on rules. Like students might try to pull wearing and not wearing certain things with you when it's against rules.
