Your first impacts are your parents and siblings. When using their personality doesn't work in some particular facet of life, one will seek an another person's personality to emulate. That is why children in school are so heavily influenced by their peers.

One thing that comes to mind is 'differential association'. The types of people and experiences you face have a greater influence on you than those you are less familiar with. Obviously, family is high on that list. If you are in a heavily populated area with a great diversity, I think you are less likely to be prejudiced, as compared to being in an isolated, homogeneous community.

Your birth order has a great effect, too.

Use your brain. Think about this. What factors were responsible for your own personality development? You can figure this out. That is the whole idea. Not to ask people on Yahoo! : )

Lots of affection, developing a conscience, learning right from wrong, teaching empathy, and developing self-esteem.

If i had to say sth i would say that personality is nothing to be built...or developed.
there is nothing responsible lol...but one person is only responsible....
