I would say no.. and I've heard an argument (zealots don't attack me, I've not looked it up, only heard it) that in the bible a man kills a pregnant woman and his sin is killing the woman.. that is his only sin.. not for the death of the child inside her.. which would suggest that in the eyes of God a pregnant woman is one person.

Well, I won't speak for God, but fertilized eggs in PETRI dishes are human in the eyes of science. As opposed to a sperm or an egg, they contain a complete, unique genetic blueprint. As opposed to "clusters" of skin cells, hair cells, etc. they WILL become a complete and "born" human if allowed to develop.
Science teaches us this - it's a human, even though it looks NOTHING like one at the moment - it's microscopic! Much misery has been the result of people not recognizing that others who "do not look like us" were indeed human.
Interesting how those who accuse the "Bible thumpers" of ignoring science often do so themselves!

Only to religious crackpots and others who are incapable of making the distinction between sappy emotionalism and reality. Every time I hear them use the term "baby," I imagine them at Babies R Us with a lump of formless tissue in their hand trying to find bonnets and booties that will fit it.

People who believe this should strongly oppose in vitro fertilization for infertile couples. Hundreds of thousands of fertilized eggs and blastocysts are destroyed by fertility clinics in the process of getting women pregnant. Why don't they sponsor legislation to outlaw these clinics or at least picket them?

Yes, the clusters of cells, if they are human cells, in "petri" dishes are human babies in God's eyes.

It's Barack Obama, not Obama Barack. If you're gonna vote for him you're probably gonna need to know his correct name.
