Everytime something goes on with me why does this particular co-worker always want to bring it to the limelight with everbody in the office. She does this especially with my boss. An example of this, is when I got married. I didn't have a chance to tell my supervisor yet, because he had been off work due to a death in his family. What she did was say in front of the boss; "did you tell him yet"? I said no, not yet, and then she says, its supposed to be a happy occassion, I told her; yes I know, but I want to tell everybody when I get good and ready. Why does she do this to me. She knows there's another person in the office, who I refuse to discuss my personal business with. What's her problem?

Sounds like she is an attention seeker. It's probably best if you do not share things with her that you do not want others to know. You already know that she won't keep it a secret so don't tell.

Ok, so if I'm reading this correctly... this co worker announces all of your personal issues to everyone else in the office?

Two things:

One. Don't tell her your personal stuff. She won't have anything to report.

Two. She sounds like the high school drama queen. She needs to be the center of attention all the time, and it's accomplished by spreading rumors and talking about everyone else's business.

On another note...her own personal life probably sucks and is boring.

Again, if possible, I wouldn't say anything to this person if I could avoid her.

My advice is. Bawl her out in front of those very same people. simply tell her that if you had wished everyone to know what is going on in your life you will tell them in your own good time. Make her feel as small and intruded upon as she does to you. The reason she does this may not be entirely obvious nor malicious. but she certainly has no right to inform anyone of your personnel business. does she live alone? she may find your life far more exciting than her own, but still this is no excuse. I would nip this in the bud NOW, Before it makes your work life unbearable

Wow ...
Probably this girl really thinks its an important announcement and that she wants everyone to know and be happy about ...

Probably she didnt think about your other problem with the other person in the office because she was too excited to let everyone know ...

She's an *** or just one of those people you cant really get rid off no matter how you try. She has no life and take's pleasure in yours. Be more firm wit her and tell her you dont appreciate the way she's always up in your business.

I had the same problem, so i stop talking to the person. Once me and him became friends again i stop telling him by personal business all together.

So you need to put her in her place, let her know you don't appreciate her talking your business if she doesn't stop, i would stop talking to her

She's a blabber mouth and from this point on, I would try my best to ensure she is the last one to know about any of my business.

what you do is you tell her something that she thinks would be very important, but you make it the biggest lie you can think of without her knowing its a lie...(make sure you and her are the only ones who know)...and then after she says things to people in your office....catch her in her lie....she'll never do it again...and if she does....just do it again....she'll stop after a while.
