Both Hummingbird and Garmin make units in the price range you are looking for.

Check out the Garmin Fish Finder 1400, it is good up to about 600 ft of water and has a scrolling view screen. Should be adequate for fresh water fishing (rivers and lakes).

It retails for about $130.00.

most of the brands has a suitable for the price class you mentioned, but from my experience, Hummingbird is quite reliable.

My former one was Eagle, wich stopped working with no sensible reason after 2 years, so I wouldn`t advise to buy that brand.
