A Treo certainly sounds like a good option for you. However, which kind is a dilemma about as rigid as Windows vs. Mac. They are just two very different kind of OS's, and I would recommend going down to a store and playing around and seeing which one feels most RIGHT to you. Trust me you'll know.
I've been using Palms for years and they just make sense to me. I've tried out friends' Windows PDA's and they just seem overly complicated. Basically I find that with Palm you get to things you want to do in less steps, while in Windows you have more options of customizing options and whatnot (which is pretty much a fair description of Windows vs. Mac when you think about it).
Good luck, and I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever you choose!!!

merely my opinion: The treo 700p is rubbish. I had 3 treo 650's, and that they tousled, so ultimately verizon upgraded me to the 700p. i understand I could be grateful, yet ever for the reason that then, i've got had no longer something yet extra issues. Slowdowns and lag in the palm os, (plenty slower than 650) crashes for random motives, below a million/2 the compatibility with third social gathering courses of the 650, random resets, and merely worse navigation than the 650. i certainly don't understand plenty concerning the homestead windows version, yet i'd wholeheartedly advise you reside faraway from the P, until eventually palmone can get their act jointly. They have not replaced something in an prolonged time in the treo, merely tried to characteristic some extras that they are going to use as an excuse to can charge a lot of money. there is not any longer something particularly technically extra effective between this and the 650 (comparable velocity, average reminiscence difference, somewhat extra effective digital camera) and that they do no longer look to be particularly worth it for the value. once you're purely techniques are the p or the w, i'd exchange the palm option to a minimum of something else, and that they come to a decision between that and the 700w. My opinion.

It's a double edged sword in that respect. The Palm based is stable, in yet the phone part is not very good such as the voice quality of the microphone and speaker. On the other hand, the Windows Mobile based has better sound quality, but it may crash or operate "slower". Also, Windows based PDAs are compatible with Microsoft Office apps such as Outlook, so you can synch email between your Windows desktop and the PDA.

I have gone full circle on this same question. I carry a PCS cell phone and then also carry a pocket PC with phone. I was hoping to be able to do all in one. The Pocket PC is wonderful as can sync with all MS office programs, also the GPRS is wonderful and I carry the Pocket PC on business trips instead of a laptop and do quite well. The big problem I find with the PDA/cell phone is that it does everyting well except for the phone. I think you will also find this with other devices. The phone seems to be the weak link. I accidently trashed my pocket pc while on the road and replaced it with a Smart phone. I find this is totally adequate and the phone is good yet the other function s are not as snazzy as the pocket pc and surely the other PDAs you are investigating. For me, the phone function is first. I have a Toshiba TX60 Smart phone, GSM (tri band) and G3. If you do get a PDA, make sure to get one of the new ones with the built in GPS! That is a great function. Good luck!

I would lean toward the windows platform rather than the palm. I have recently purchased a RIM Blackberry though and am enjoying it very much. BUT, to answer your question, again, I would go windows.

it all depends, both treos are great devices, it all depends on what you want to do with it, are there any programs for either OS you want.
also to the last answer RIM makes blackberries not Motorola.

I personally like windows because it is easier, more customizeable, and very easy to get around in.
