Every time I put my jeans in the dryer they shrink. I can usually get them loosened up a bit after I wear them, but they shrink a bit more every time. I don't like to hang them to dry because they get crunchy and then get super baggy after I wear them. What can I do to keep my jeans from shrinking?

I pull my jeans out of the dryer when they are almost dry and hang them up. That way they stay soft but don't shrink.

I also wash them in cold water. It seems to help.

Hanging them to dry is the best solution, although they will be a bit stiff once they are dry. I have found that once the jeans are dry from hang drying them, placing them in the dryer with a damp cloth (a dish towel, a wash cloth, etc.) and a fabric softener sheet long enough for the cloth to dry will soften them up and not cause any shrinking. It's worth a shot! Just make sure the jeans are at least three fourths the way dry before you put them in the dryer.

Wash them in cold water and if you MUST dry them, dry them for about twenty minutes on low and then take them out to let them air dry the rest of the way. Shrinking is a result of too much heat and when people put stuff in the dryer they often set the dryer too hot, too long or both. That's usually what causes clothes to shrink.

Fibers can only shrink so much... Sure you didn't just over do it this Thanksgiving?

A good way to keep it to a minimum is to only dry them 3/4 of the way and hang them the rest of the way dry.

Or... you could put them on slightly damp like we used to do with our skinny jeans in the 80's.

I broke more forks on damp jeans than you could shake a stick at! LOL...

Washing in cold water helps to minimize the shrinkage. Best to Hang Dry

Dont dry them I would hang them outside, or just dry them for a couple of minutes and air dry it.

don't use the heat setting. most dryers offer a cool or no-heat setting. it will pump cool air and prevent shrinkage.
