sitting up straight is better for your back and slouching will hurt your back when you are older

Its funny you should ask this. In the news today a new study came out saying that the strain of sitting upright for long hours is a perpetrator of chronic back problems. I personally don't do any one all the time. I tend to slouch more, but at work and at social functions (like clubs), I tend to sit and stand straight just because it looks better. Take a look at the news story.

You shouldn't! A new study has shown that sitting up straight is bad for your back. Unfortunately, so is slouching. Apparently, the best position is leaning back slightly at a 135-degree angle with the knees slightly bent.

Slouching only feels more comfortable in the short-run. Slouching puts strain on muscles and will eventually lead to back and neck pain.

Additionally, sittting/standing up straight releaves pressure on your internal organs and allows them to function better.

And of course, good posture makes you look more confident and your clothes fit better - both of which make you look more attractive.

Aside from some potential future health problems, people who slouch don't look confident or respectable.

because your spine needs to stay in a straight line so slouching (though more comfortable) isnt good to keep your spine strong and healthy.

You shouldn't sit up straight. I just read an article on Yahoo saying it's bad for your back. You should lean back at a 135 degree angle.
