When I turn on my computer, the time and date is correct on the bottome right hand corner, but when I send and receive emails through outlook express it's never the right time, it's 3 hours behind. I've been told that my internal server has the wrong time. Anyone know how to fix this? I've tried checking it out when I start up my computer and tried to go through set up, but the time is correct there. It's become a nuisance, and people think I'm emailing them in the wee hours of the morning, when really I'm not!! Any help would be appreciated.

I have already tried to change it on BIOS and the time is correct there, as is on the bottom right hand corner. It's only when I send/receive emails that it's behind 3 hours. I do have the correct time zone settings as well. I have been told it's my internal server time??

Your operating system is set to the wrong time zone. Double click on the time in the bottom right if you're using windows, and pick the Time Zone tab. Adjust to your current time zone and then click OK.

There are two things you can do. You can go to the CMD and type in "time" (without the quotes) and set the time there. Or as your computer starts up, hold down either F2, or F10 depending on your system and it will bring up the internal BIOS and system configuration menu. From there, look for the Date and time settings either on the first page or on a seperate Tab. The system should explain how to navigate the menus.

Hope i didn't confuse you to much.

If there ever was a time that it worked properly you could try this.
You could try the System Restore which takes you back to a time when your computer was working good. Go To:
start
programs
accessories
systems tools
system restore
This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until your puter is working good again.

If this only happens when your in email then you might need to check the setup of your email application. If it is Yahoo mail - you have to select the time zone in your account preferences. It does make a difference.
