Can someone tell me how to keep my area rug from shifting? I have it on regular carpet. Thanks.

You need to buy a rug pad. It's a piece of rubber like fabric that goes under your rug and prevents the rug from moving, bunching or curling on hard floors or carpet.
You can get one at Bed Bath and Beyond for like 70-100 bucks... kinda pricey I know, but you may be able to find them cheaper.

I sold rugs for awhile and u have to have a rug pad, the best one to get is called Persian dream made by the rug company called mil-liken. there should be a web site for them, also the Persian can be used for carpet or hardwood in case u have to move your rug to a different spot.

There are pads you can get to put under the rug to keep it from sliding around. They make them to use on carpet as well as on tile. They are relatively inexpensive, can be cut to size, and work really well. Check at a carpet store.

You can do all of the above, OR, take a glue gun, flip the rug over, do some squiggles of hot glue on the back of the rug (alllll over the back) and let it dry (you didnt think I was gonna say "glue it to the carpet, did you?)
The squiggles will anchor it and it wont slip when you walk across it.
