I remember hearing stories that about 50 years ago 35 cents would get a movie, pop, and popcorn. These days even if you go to a regular theater, and not a cineplex, you are looking to pay somewhere around 15-18 dollars for the same stuff... so knock off another 10 cents or so, and you would be looking at around 25 censt to buy al the stuff in 1915... Do the math from there.

10 dollars wouldn't last long, even at these prices!

New Home (Median Price): $ 3,200
New Car (Avg. Cost): $ 642
Milk (Qt): 9¢
Bread (Loaf): 6¢
Eggs: 34¢/doz.
Steak (lb): 24¢
Stamp: 2¢

It would pay rent for a month in a small town. That would not include meals or a bathroom of your own.
