Advantages:

1). No one entity controls all the content.
2). No one entity controls all the infrastructure.
3). No one country can control all the uses of it.
4). It allows for many platforms to use its technologies.
5). It allows people to experiment freely, collaborate and create
additions to that technology.
6). Security on the Internet is the responsibility of those needing it.


Disadvantages:

See 1 through 6 above.

I have never heard a more vague question in my entire life.

Well the Internet is great.
Games,E-mail,Chat,Information and Shopping.
The Internet is an unlimited resource of knowledge and games.

The only disadvantage is viruses.And Pop ups but they make software for that.

The positive is you can get info very fast about anything on your mind. The negative is it's addictive

A major time waster if you get hooked, also the proliferation of porn at your finger tips.
