Reporting is out of control. This is what you get for answering a stupid question. Check it out, I've edited the vulgarity out:
Question: I dare somebody to f****** report me. Come on ya big f*****g b******s?
Question Details: LOL Nah that's ok- thanks for the laugh though.
Deleted Answer: LOL Nah that's ok- thanks for the laugh though.
Reason of Violation:Not a Question or Answer
Responding that you don't want to report the person, and thanks for the laugh, is a violation? Something is definitely very wrong with this. Bashers are on here every day posting whatever they want and Yahoo doesn't do anything about it, but people who actually enjoy the site and abide by guidelines get violations? Ridiculous.

Yes Justine, you're right. I shouldn't have answered it at all. If I remember correctly it was a slow night here, and all the questions were stupid, and I was bored. Oh well.

Yes Yahoo! shares a large part of the blame here.
Yes the trolls are guilty too.
But do not deny that there is a segment of the LGBT community that is encouraging this and bringing the grief upon all of us.
The LGBT community has it within their power to end all this crap if they can just agree sufficiently on how to attack the problem and then stick to that strategy with no deviation ever.
The power is yours if you will only grasp it.
The only solution is that described above by samiracat. RAMO is the only strategy that will work.
The greatest opponent here is not the TROLLS.
The greatest opponent is the CLOSET TROLLS.

It's absolutely no use trying to make any sort of critical response to a troll. The most I'll do, and rarely (if an early arriver on the scene) is post a "Please Do Not Feed Troll" sign, in hopes that later folk won't start arguing with it by mistake.
About the only thing that seems to have a ghost of a chance for us to regain control of the boards will be to silently RAMO---report abuse, move on, with NO comment that a report's been made. (You can't be targeted for troll retaliation if there's no sign you visited the question. Forget the 2 points; it's not worth it.) RAMO and RAMO and RAMO, every time you see abusive language that violates the community standards.
But Yahoo is still having trouble with getting their act together on violations. IMHO, forget the chatting, point gaming, and "not a q/a" violations, and jump on the abusive/foul language posts....

Well yeah, but why did you even bother wasting your time? If anything a proper violation would have been "Gaming for points." Since the ONLY point of responding to such a post would be for the easy two points.
The poster was obviously taunting and daring anyone to respond. You fell into their trap. Sorry, but you really should have seen that coming.

Yes, the system is disgusting. Innocent comments get violation notices, while racist, degrading insults (including death threats) go on forever, even after having been reported many, many times.

I wonder if some of the system is automated?? It seems like a automated system is the only way some of this could be happening.

there is definitely something wrong with a system that deducts points for calling a troll a troll, but allows crude, racist and/or profane content to persist.
