I am having problems balancing this
KI+HNO3=KNO3+NO+I2+H2O

The coeffcients are 6 , 8 = 6 , 2, 3, 4.
Notice that the iodide ion is being oxidized to elemental iodine as a couple of nitrates are being reduced.

KI+HNO3=KNO3+NO+i2+H2O > 6KI+8HNO3=6KNO3+2NO+3I2+4H2O

I usually multiply by 12 and then divide by a common denominator.
12 because it contains:1,2,3,4,6 and 12.
But if it doesnt work try 24 or 36.
In this case 24.
