thats per team at cut off time whats the number of players a team may have?

That is a trick (tricky?) question. You can have 52 players on your formal roster. you designate a third quarterback, who can not play unless it is the fourth quarter or both one and two are injured earlier. Game day you must designate players as inactive to meet the Game day limit of 48. The true roster would have the 52 plus up to an additional six players designated as practice squad members (players with less than three years on active rosters). Thus you have 52 formal players, 48 game players, but 58 total players on your roster.

The NFL limit on a teams active roster is 55 players.

OK you can have 53 players dress ready to play 8 on the practice squad and 11 for NFL Europe

I think it is 55 , with 47 active. The other 8 are on the practice squad.

u are are not allowed more than 55
but most teams have and average of 48-52 players

60..i counted the patriots team pic..and it was 60 players on the team
