The mayor's office has dis-allowed advertisement of a movie about the 'nativity' at a German 'Christmas-Fest'(based on the Nativity) because the city doesn't want to 'offend' non-Christians. The billboard or placard type advertisement has audio as well.

Has Mayor Daley gone off the deep-end trying to appear 'politically correct' ?

Yes, that's just ridiculous. I wonder who is more offended by his actions? This amounts to a loss of freedom of speech for a segment of this society. Remember it is OK for those people to protest at funerals and they offend everybody.

Daley is the most corrupt politician Chicago has ever had. If this backfires on him, he will pass the buck.

Daley has always been freaky.
Remember when he went running down to Florida to change the votes so Gore would win?
He thought he could just change the vote like he always did in Chicago.
He is wanting to kiss-up to the Christian Haters.

No, it's just a dumb decision. The City lost $12,000 in ad revenue and alienated a lot of people for nothing.

Hey, that's a step in the right direction for this world. There's nothing politically correct about anything anymore, so why promote something that would lead to civil unrest? For laughs?

yes... he's gone off the deep end... we shouldn't be trying to not offend everyone.. we should be offending everyone and tell them to get over it.. granted we shouldn't be using racist terminology or that sort of thing.. but as for religion, show it all .. if people want to watch it they will, if it insults them they will get over it and won't watch it.
