As you can see, I have little understanding of the game. However I feel that it could be very interesting if I knew a bit more about it. I enjoy one day matches but full length games defy my attention span.

Team B wins a Test Match when Team A has completed two innings, and Team B has amassed more runs than them. If the run totals are equal, this is a tie (not a draw as some others have suggested).
A draw occurs when time runs out, and none of the above situations have occurred. e.g. Team B is still batting but doesn't have more runs than Team A.
In One Day International cricket, there is no such thing as a draw. Teams have one innings each with limited overs, and the one with the most runs win. If the scores are level, this is a tie. If the game cannot be completed according to the rules, the match is deemed to be a No Result.

Normally matches are drawn in the Test Cricket. Presently test matches are of 5 days duration. The matches are divided into 2 innings per team, i.e. total 4 innings.

It the teams batting second could not score the total number of runs scored by the team batting first and the time of the match ends and wickets are left in the team batting second, the match ends in a draw.

For example:

The team batting first score 400 runs in their first innings are either all out or they close their innings by declaring. The team batting second score 450 runs and either all out or declare their innings closed. The first team starts their 2nd innings and score again 400 runs. They will have a lead of 350 runs (400 runs minus the deficit of 50 runs of 1st innings). The second team starts their second innings and could manage only 300 runs till the end of the 5th day of the match and they have not lost all their wickets, in which case the match become draw.

Hey there,
If you need to download International Cricket Captain you can get it here for free: http://bit.ly/1oheu7h

International Cricket Captain 2013?s gameplay allows users to choose among a wide variety of licensed teams (both international and domestic) from England, India and Australia. The game offers the possibility of building your own team with the players you want, choosing to be the captain of classic teams and even recreating real historical matches that happened years ago.
It's my favourite game.

It should end as a draw only due to rain or other external difficulties. But not to end as draw after playing 5 days. It is foolishness to end the match as a draw after playing so many hours. I hate a draw.

if it is a limited overs game when both teams finish with the same number of runs.

in test matches it can be a draw if one team sets a total and the other team doesnt reach it but they are not all out either and the time runs out

confusing game isnt it!

If the game fails to come to a conclusion before the alloted time/number of overs runs out. Or if play is stopped due to weather etc.
