I am not of the school that thinks Reggie Bush won't still be a star. I do. I think his receiving game and his speed can still make him a top notch running back. You can't make the statement that juking doesn't work in the NFL. Barry Sanders made a career of it. But when you compare Bush's hype to Vince Young's I think it is unfair. The experts expected far more out of Reggie Bush in year 1 than Vince Young. I don't think anyone expected Young to be starting in his 1st year. I also can't jump on the "Vince Young is great" bandwagon. He basically had one good game. I think he has to share praise with Travis Henry for the improvement in the run game. But to answer your question, I think Vince Young has exceeded his expectations and Bush has fallen short. Even though Bush's expectations were astronomical.

Vince took the Titans from a 21-0 deficit in the first half of the game and helped to bring the team back to defeat the Giants. His performance with the Titans has been improving every week. Bo Scaife (A Texas Ex who played with the Horns at the same time Vince did) said this was exactly the same stuff at college but with a huge improvement in the game. Yes he missed the flight to Philly, but he also didn't have a suit when he went to the White House for Valentines day. Big woop, he's young, but he's also talented and willing to learn and grow.
Reggie Bush is an amazing football player. The Saints are also dealing with a young coach and a healing city. The Saints are not going to look to help anyone be a star, but to help the city as much as they can. This by no means has hindered Reggie's room to show what he can do. And he has shown it very well. He's also had some downfalls. It wasn't untill his 6th game that he actually made a touch down, other games he was stopped cold. Not necessarily his fault but it doesn't allow room to show the "hype".
This should really be between Leinhart and Young. Who's living up to the "Hype"?

I'm not sure how to answer the question because I think they are both doing well. Young has had a couple good big games, but still has a lot to learn. Reggie Bush has done everything that is asked of him in N.O.. He shares carries, so his numbers arent as big as if he was the featured back. However, with that said Bush poses a threat everytime he touches the ball and defenses know that.....Bush has done exactly what he was asked to do. The only people that think different are the people who are expecting him to be on every highlight reel every weekend. He has truly done a great job and will only get better.

I live in the New Orleans area and I was never sold on Reggie Bush. True he was a great college football player but I questioned his size and running ability to be a success at the next level. He tries all that juking stuff in the pros and gets stuffed by the defenses. In many cases, he loses yards in the process. What he does well is as a receiver coming out of the backfield or lining up in the slot position. As far as a runner he shows very little promise so far.
As for Vince Young, his mobility has been a huge plus and his passing game is better than I had expected. Given the difficulty of the positions for a rookie (i.e., quarterback vs. runningback) Vince Young has done a better job.

Well first off, there's no way Reggie could live up to the hype that's been built for him. He's got talent, there's no doubt, but he is way overhyped. He's not even the best rookie on his own team let alone the league! In college they had to bring LenDale in for more power at the goal line and big 3rd or 4th downs. That's not a complete back. That being said, I do believe that Young has because he has a lot less to work with. A mediocre O-line and less than mediocre receivers.

I too live in New Orleans & i would have to say both of them. Reggie does pose a Threat to any Defense when he is on the field and he has proven that a few times. he isnt going to have L.T's stats yet because we have Deuce as the #1 back for now! Vince is an outstanding athlete, and he too poses a threat because he is a mobile quarteback. He is showing us everytime he plays that he will a force to be wreckened with. They are both still learning the game, and will be huge stars in the NFL! The media hypes all these rookies up, and when they dont do as good as they hoped, they began to slam them!! Reggie knows his place in New Orleans, and Vince knows his place in Tennessee.

I'll have to go with Reggie for now. The Saints are in position to go to the superbowl this year and Tennessee is a good ways from having the opportunity. By the time Tennesse can build a team good enough to compete Vince will be too old to play.

So far it's Vince Young; easily. But that may be because he's now getting the full-time starting nod, where Bush still splits carries with Deuce McAllister.
I love the way the Saints use Bush, though, in splitting him out and basically getting him onto the field along WITH Deuce. They really use all of Bush's abilities.

Vince who?
You asked who's currently living up to the hype more.
Reggie's splitting carries and still kicking butt. Vince got a few lucky games here/there, but still seems lost. Though he should do better than Ryan and Joey.

I'd say vince young. Reggie Bush could have this year...but he is splitting carries with Deuce. Wich makes it a little harder to prove yourself. As for Vince...he is now starting to get the hand of things in the offense and learning how to read defenses.
