I've been asking some questions on Yahoo! Answers about 'A Clockwork Orange' and I just would like to know where I can buy the original copy and not the American made. I've tried Wal-Mart, and they only have to original, and I've tried Hastings, and they don't even have the American....can I buy this book in a regular bookstore or do I have to actuslly order it?

Original?! Wow that might be very hard to come by. Try Amazon if that doesn't work, place an ad in a widely read media print.

The original book has 3 sections of 7 chapters each (= 21, the age of majority). The US version has only 20 chapters - the last was omitted. I found a "complete" version fairly easily on eBay a few years back, and apparently this version is now published in the US. So you might not need to get a rare UK 1st edition if all you are really after is the full 21 chapter book.

If you are looking for the British version, you may have to buy a used copy. Try:

I just checked and they have a used British version for £1...Course, they will charge you something for postage. Still, a bargain.
