if you're asking that question you should take action. medication won't solve the problem, it didn't solve mine, but it does make it easier to deal with the emotions. and the emotions themselves may never totally leave, but you can get to a place where they can at least be managed, which is what the medicine helps to do. but quite honestly, taking medication is just the first start, and only addresses the symptoms, you eventually have to deal with the underlying reasons why you're depressed to begin with, which is something a qualified professional could only help you with.

First unless ur maniac... not every Psychologist or clinical mental health worker is going to give u a pill!
Many times it's a professional counseling u or group setting, helping u to gain new tools to deal with stress and frustrations of life. U do realize depression is a disease... there is no shame nor reason to endure that emotional pain and anxiety on your own. Please go to nearest mental health center in your community. Beside if they deem a mild dose is needed don't be afraid but do BE INFORMED. Have a love one be your advocate. Know the symptoms and the treatment. If medication is prescribed know the side affects.

I am a diagnosed depressive and I am begging you to get help now. depression hurts physically and emotionally. not only to you but to the ones around you. counseling and meds are the only help that worked for me and most others I have talked to. depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. the meds will adjust them to their proper level. it will take some time.....please do this

You should get mrdication right away if it isn't passing, if you dont you can only end up feeling worse.

try aerobic exercise it really helps. also, try writing your feelings down somewhere, that also helps me. and try talking to someone especially. you should decide to take action when you know you can't handle this anymore. please talk to someone though!

do things that will divert ur a10n....cooking,sports...etc
