Usually it means your uterus is weak and is having a hard time holding the baby in. It could come early but if you watch how long you stand and lay down when you rest like watching tv and stuff you could make it full term. The main thing is not to put alot of pressure on the uterus. Standing, carrying things and lifting and reaching things put strain on the uterus. Avoid these and you should be fine.

Not necessarily. It could come early but then again you could end up going over your due date. I've been having braxton hicks contractions since the beginning of my second trimester (Im also 31 weeks). I have menstral cramps all the time, which is a sign of preterm labor but then again I've been getting them since I was 5 weeks along and have already had 5 sonograms to ensure things are going well. There really is no way to be sure when the baby will come. I know it stinks not knowing and worrying about having a preterm baby. Just try to relax and see what the doctor says/suggests at this point. Good luck.

It is possible if you have already had contractions that the baby will come early. I'm assuming at the hospital they gave you something to stop the contractions before sending you home. If that's the case follow the doctor's directions, (possible bed rest) and keep that baby cooking.
Lots of women have early contractions and make it to term (37 weeks is full term) and have happy healthy babies. Try to not stress because that won't help things either.

That depends on why you had contractions. I had contractions at 34 weeks 5 days because I was dehydrated. They stopped the contractions, gave me steroid shots and I gave birth at 40 weeks 5 days after a 3 day induction. Take it easy and listen to your doctor and you should be fine. G-d bless and good luck.

Not necessarily. Were you put on bedrest? Many times with preterm labor they will put you on bedrest if you're at risk of preterm delivery. Did the hospital tell if you if your contractions were real labor contractions or just Braxton Hicks? Just take it easy, stay off your feet as much as possible and talk to your doctor!

it depends.what did the hospital say?were they just braxton hicks?cause they are common at this stage of pregnancy and they really dont do much as far as starting labor.if your contractions ease up with movement or slowly get farther apart they are probobly b/h.i was having bad contractions a few nights ago every 3 minutes so i called the doc and she told me to drink 4 or 5 cups of water and see if they got any better.they did!!i was probobly dehydrated and that can cause contractions as well.next time you have contractions try drinking water, eating a snack or lying down and relaxing.if they ease up and go away then its just b/h!!good luck!!

NO, it doesn't mean it'll come early. It could, but women have preterm contractions all the time and this doesn't mean they are in preterm labor.
