3. Did I make a good choice?

I'd say the Xbox 360 is a better system for a few reasons. The Playstation 3 is sold out, and will be for a few months now. Also when consoles first come out, they have problems for the first few months at the least and tend to have problems.
The Xbox360 has a good lineup of games, a year head start on fixing problems with the system, and is in my opinion a better buy. I have an Xbox360 and love it, I don't want the playstation 3 or the Nintendo Wii.

The 360 has been out for a year, the PS3 is just coming out. ALL systems are buggy and have problems in their first generation, which the PS3 currently is. The 360 has been out over a year, and has had a chance to get the kinks worked out. I think you made a good choice as there is less chance of the 360 having major problems. Ask me a year from now and I might have a different answer(laugh). But I think you made the better decision.

howdy even although that i have had 5, the 360 cus... a million) Multiplayer (xbox stay) is a lot extra solid! 2) seems extra chic! 3) Wider decision of video games, extra sport "exclusives"! 4) Controllers are a lot extra tender! 5) PS3 and Xbox's images are particularly similar 6) PS3 heats up a lot extra, previous experience, had an xbox 360 and a PS3, the PS3 melted my carpet! Oh certain, even although that previous xbox were going incorrect, new fashions were produced without those complications, and, in spite of the indisputable fact that if it does move incorrect Microsoft have given each and every xbox, inclusive of consoles already bought, a three year assure!

You know what for you to be such a thoughtful, and caring grandparent to spend this amount of money on your grandchild no. I just hope your grandson appreciates the thought and care you put behind the gift. Besides the PS3 is a new system, and has many bugs to work out yet, and the X-Box 360 has been out for a year now, and has built itself a nice little library of games, and is by now a stable system to have. I hope your grandson enjoys it, and you have a great holiday.

It really just depends on what type of game your grandson likes. The playstation is known for its vast array of rpg's and the xbox for the more intense gun games. While thats not a absolute I would go with playstation if your son likes rpg's(role playing games such as Final Fantasy or Xenosaga), or go with the Xbox if he likes games such as Halo of F.E.A.R. Also the Xbox is pretty good with sports games.
