terrorism is a point of view.. does that make it right? of course not.. but if you truly believe there was an evil nation that was going to destroy the world and you knew no other nation could stand up to it toe to toe, how would you fight back? from their mentality i can understand why they are terrorists even if i completely disagree with that mentality and their cause... and understanding that is why i say the War on Terror can only be won threw changing people minds in ways other than force.. sure sometimes force is necessary.. but to use it all the time just makes them believe more strongly in their cause.. at some point diplomacy has to resume and a mental war has to be waged.

What do you think the lead story in London, England newspapers of June 1776 would be full of. Stories of upstart rebels(terrorists) in the Americas, hiding behind trees, firing at our glorious troops from ambush. Innocent civilians were killed in the War for our Independence, people loyal to England were shot by "rebels". These rebels are now our National heroes. So to answer your question, of course terrorism can be justified, but only if you prevail.

Terrorism is aimed at civilians. It is aimed to repress those who want to be free. Some of the Muslim govts overseas use this to stop Iraq from becoming a democracy for those exact reasons. Now, terrorism is usually based on Islam. Islam is not a peaceful religion, but it has been perverted to the extent that people use it to promote terrorism. Most in the US do not do this because they prefer freedom and democracy over tyrannical rule.

A great cause does not require terrorism, and never has. Terrorism is for terrible people following terrible causes. And it always has been.

No. Killing is always wrong, especially the killing of innocent people. I believe that terrorists seldom if ever get their own way. The IRA tried for over 30 years to unite Ireland by force, and have not achieved this goal. More has been achieved by talking and dialog.

Bush has justified it nearly every day since 9-11. Fear is a form of terrorism. Since 9-11 he has used fear to keep the Republicans in office. I wouldn't call that a great cause, but it was wrong. It finally backfired on him.
