Our son is just over 4 months old and has slept in our room in a bassinet since birth. I would like him to use his own room and begin using his crib but not sure how he will do with the transition. We also keep his whole bassinet covered with a blanket to keep it dark and to keep him warmer as well so I am not sure how to take him from a dark cozy warm bassinet in our room to an open big crib in his room. How can I make this easy for him and me???

Start by doing naps in his big boy bed. Make the room as dark as possible. After he gets used to naps in there, then try it at night. Be prepared for him to wake up more because he will know your not right there beside him. Keep the bassinet in your room for a while longer, that way if it is to the point no one is getting any sleep, you can put him in for a few hours. Or if he is not rolling around yet consider moving the bassinet into his room, letting him get used to the room and then to the big bed. He actually has two transitions to make, so be patient. He has to transition to another room and another bed. Good luck.

If the bassinet detaches from the backside or something -some do have confidence it or no longer- try putting the bassinet interior the crib. which will provide your little female a feeling of risk-free practices. progressively, she could get used to the crib and the room, and at last she'll start up dozing in her crib. And as painful because it sounds, you are able to merely could permit her cry it out. it won't harm her and she or he would cry herself to sleep that way. We had to try this, and it labored after a jointly as. merely bypass and verify on her to be certain she's no longer too chilly or warm or she's no longer in any uncomfortable positions each and every a million/2 hour or so. And even though you do, do no longer p.c.. her up until eventually it particularly is been approximately 2 hours or so. provide her a while, she'll progressively get used to it. additionally consistent with hazard you are able to start putting her in it once you run to the bathing room or take a rapid bathe throughout the time of the sunlight hours, so she will a minimum of get used to being interior her crib. additionally, in case you do not have one, make investments the money right into a cellular. That helped my daughter with the transition from our mattress to her crib. They hear the music and alter into excited approximately it, and then they forget what they have been crying approximately.

I did the same thing you did with having my son in the room. I ended up moving his whole crib into our bedroom to help him transition. Unfortunatly he is 9 months old and the crib is still there! Just make sure you remember to move the crib out after the transistion.

It won't be easy, but it's the right time. I also moved my son around that time and it was MUCH harder on me and my husband than it was for him. Your son should not have that hard of a transition as long as you keep your bedtime routine the same. Also it's about time to get rid of the habbit of covering him with a blanket, as he gets more mobile this can be truly dangerous. Keep his crib empty and put lots of warm layers on him.
Good luck.
