The price of non-conformity and individuality can sometimes be lonliness.
I empathize. Be patient, and be strong. You will meet the right people; just keep a clear focus on your goal.

the problem is that the popular teens and the media kinda put a huge amt of peer pressure and everyone ends up doing the same things. they might enjoy it, but they might not.
either way i know how irritating it can get when everyone else is obsessed about something u dont have much of an intrest in. the sex and partying obsession at that age is not restricted to oklahoma, or the US. hang in there, it doesn't last for ever, and u wont be stuck with the same people for the rest of ur life. for now, just enjoy doing what u like, but don't give up trying to find others like u. there's usually someone else nearby u haven't found yet.

At that age peer pressure is a B!$(H! Most teen party and have sex cuz there friends do it. But be proud of urself and the fact that u r diff from every1 else. Its safer that way. Just take ur time u'll end up around the right people.

It is not just in Oklahoma.
16 year olds party because it is the way of life to them
A way to rebel.
To have fun
Sex is so free now.. No morals. respect for them selves or the ones who care about them.
Ignorance.

Try to change your Attitude first then search the people who have your ideas, who have established well in the society.

You could try chat rooms for the time being. College can't be too far off for you. You actually have a choice where you go on that. Keep your chin up. You are making good choices for your life.

Age is a license to enjoy yourself, it is only when you get a bit older and realize that your priorities have changed will it make a difference to your lifestyle.
Enjoy your life while you can.

You should be able to hide out in Christian youth groups.
Yah, that sounds weird, but think about it. They're not supposed to act out that way, so how can they find out about your orientation? And as long as you don't act out, you aren't breaking their rules anyway. Friendships are comforting. Go for it.

At this age, people are still discovering themselves for who they are. They cannot find each other when they haven't found themselves yet.
