My first question to you is where did you obtain the dial-up modem?? if you bought this piece of equipment it should have came with a disk or CD with software driver information. However, if you got this dial-up modem from a friend ask if they still have it, worst case scenario would be you not being able to locate the drivers disk or CD. If this is the situation, then you would have to access a computer with internet acess go to the manufacturer's website and in their "support & drivers" section download the drivers if a usb flash drive or a floppy disk (most likely a floppy disk if you're still running windows 98) and after you have the drivers downloading, simply install it on your PC where you have modem you're trying to install. GOOD LUCk!!

you ought to not use a modem and an ADSL router on the comparable time. in actuality you do not ought to. in case you opt for for to connect your router on your laptop with a cable you would be able to desire to apply an RJ45 patch cable. in the journey that your router is instant you ought to then connect a instant enabled laptop too. the finished element of employing a router extremely of a modem is which you will share your broadband connection (or in keeping with possibility information and printers in case you have it set up wisely.)
