you have to enable encryption, best thing is to go to the manufacturer website for docs and also check in their forums ( I did that for my linksys )

Enable encryption. WPA is better than WEP. WEP is better than nothing but you should change your passkey weekly. Read your wireless device's docs for instructions on how to set it up.
